About this Lesson

Maybe you just don't like to read! Anything--the Bible or anything else.

If that's the case, it's perfectly OK as listening, not reading, was the way people took in the content of the Bible through most of human history.

That's just one of the reasons why people don’t read their Bible and it’s perfectly OK as there is no greater value in reading than listening. It is the CONTENT of the Bible that is important, not how you take it in.

Another reason is that we assume that we can read the Bible differently than any other book, jumping around here and there, pulling out a passage that we like, and then saying "we've read the Bible."

You wouldn't read any other book, a novel, or textbook in that way and say you've read it. And jumping around the Bible and pulling out passages here and there isn’t reading it either.

These are just two of the five eye-opening reasons that I hope will motivate you (and maybe even laugh at yourself a little) and challenge you to read the Bible in Chronological order, which can be one of the most life-changing things you can do to grow in your Christian life.
